ED WALKER

BOARD CHAIR

Ed Walker has always enjoyed helping others. This led to a life-changing event when a tree-falling accident caused major injuries in 2002. Despite doctors’ predictions of lifelong severe limitations, God healed Ed’s mind and body.  This gave Ed a new appreciation for life, and for God’s ability to heal and restore.

Ed grew up in a wonderful family in the Vancouver area. After marrying his high school sweetheart 50 years ago, Ed focused on his career at TELUS and advanced rapidly to senior leadership roles in Operations, Customer Service, Sales and Marketing before retiring as a Director in Human Resources.  He then launched a business consulting firm, focusing on learning and development, organizational leadership, and executive coaching across Canada. Ed currently volunteers on 3 Boards, including AMPARO.

Ed has known, respected and supported Brent and Michelle for many years. When he heard about their plan to provide life-changing education in Mango, he arranged with Bruce Hitchen and Steve Paras to go down for the Grand Opening of the school. He had tears of joy for the incredible excitement of everyone in Mango who were celebrating what was previously only a dream. AMPARO brought real hope to Mango.
